Dominant groups

Analysis of the language spoken at home by children aged 0 to 4 years in Sutherland Shire Council in 2021 compared to the total population in Sutherland Shire Council shows that there was a similar proportion of people who spoke English only, as well as a similar proportion of those speaking a non-English language (either exclusively, or in addition to English).

Overall, 82.8% of children aged 0 to 4 years spoke English only, and 14.0% of% spoke a non-English language, compared with 82.9% and 13.8% respectively for the total population in Sutherland Shire Council.
