Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Woombye in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (218 males or 21.0%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (94 males or 9.1%)
  • Retail Trade (93 males or 9.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 405 males in total or 39.0% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Mandurah employed 17.0% in Construction; 3.7% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 7.4% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Woombye and Mandurah were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in health care and social assistance (9.1% compared to 3.7%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in construction (21.0% compared to 17.0%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in mining (2.9% compared to 17.8%)
