Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the people in low income households in City of Ryde in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Professionals (370 persons or 18.7%)
- Sales Workers (290 persons or 14.6%)
- Community and Personal Service Workers (285 persons or 14.4%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 945 people in total or 47.7% of the employed people in low income households.
In comparison, Greater Sydney employed 12.9% in Professionals; 13.4% in Sales Workers; and 15.1% in Community and Personal Service Workers.
The major differences between the jobs held by people in low income households of the City of Ryde and Greater Sydney were:
- A larger percentage of people employed as Professionals (18.7% compared to 12.9%)
- A larger percentage of people employed as Managers (9.2% compared to 7.8%)
- A smaller percentage of people employed as Machinery Operators And Drivers (5.1% compared to 9.2%)
- A smaller percentage of people employed as Labourers (12.1% compared to 14.6%)
Emerging groups
