Dominant groups

Analysis of the female five year age groups of the City of Ryde in 2021 compared to Ku-ring-gai Council area shows that there was a lower proportion of females in the younger age groups (under 15) as well as a lower proportion of females in the older age groups (65+).

Overall, 15.3% of the female population was aged between 0 and 15, and 16.3% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 18.2% and 20.5% respectively for Ku-ring-gai Council area.

The major differences between the female age structure of the City of Ryde and Ku-ring-gai Council area were:

  • A larger percentage of females aged 30 to 34 (9.9% compared to 4.2%)
  • A larger percentage of females aged 25 to 29 (8.5% compared to 3.5%)
