Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander resident population in Rockhampton Regional Council in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Total employed persons aged 15+ (2,200 people or 100.0%)
- Community and Personal Service Workers (461 people or 21.0%)
- Labourers (381 people or 17.3%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 3,042 people in total or 138.3% of the employed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander resident population.
The major differences between the occupations held by the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population of Rockhampton and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander of Regional QLD were:
- A larger percentage of people employed as Community and Personal Service Workers (21.0% compared to 17.8%)
