Analysis of the unpaid child care provided by the population in Palerang Eastern Areas in 2021 compared to Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council area shows that there was a lower proportion of people who provided unpaid child care either to their own or to other children. Overall, 23.9% of the population provided unpaid child care, compared with 29.7% for Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council area.
The major differences between the share of the population providing unpaid child care in Palerang Eastern Areas and Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council area were:
- A larger percentage who did not provide care for children (68.6% compared to 64.8%)
- A smaller percentage who provided unpaid childcare for own child/ren (16.8% compared to 22.1%)
