Dominant groups
In 2021, there were 127 people who caught public transport to work (train, bus, tram or ferry) in St Kilda West, compared with 492 who drove in private vehicles (car – as driver, car – as passenger, motorbike, or truck).
Analysis of the method of travel to work of the residents in St Kilda West in 2021, compared to the City of Port Phillip, shows that 7.2% used public transport, while 27.4% used a private vehicle, compared with 7.8% and 28.6% respectively in the City of Port Phillip.
The major differences in persons between the method of travel to work of St Kilda West and the City of Port Phillip were:
- A larger percentage of persons who worked at home (46.2% compared to 43.9%)
- A larger percentage of persons who travelled by tram (5.7% compared to 4.3%)
- A smaller percentage of persons who walked only (2.9% compared to 4.7%)
