Dominant groups

Analysis of the service age groups of Northern Midlands in 2021 compared to Regional TAS shows that there was a similar proportion of people in the younger age groups (0 to 17 years) and a higher proportion of people in the older age groups (60+ years).

Overall, 20.0% of the population was aged between 0 and 17, and 31.4% were aged 60 years and over, compared with 19.9% and 30.2% respectively for Regional TAS.

The major difference between the age structure of Northern Midlands and Regional TAS is:

  • A smaller percentage of 'Parents and homebuilders' (16.0% compared to 17.0%)

Emerging groups
