Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Longford and District in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (421 people or 15.6%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (388 people or 14.4%)
  • Manufacturing (259 people or 9.6%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,068 people in total or 39.7% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Evandale and District employed 7.5% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; 18.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 6.9% in Manufacturing.
