Dominant groups
Analysis of the car ownership of non-English speakers in the Northern Beaches Council in 2021 compared to the total population in the Northern Beaches Council shows that 93.5% were in households that owned at least one car, while 5.6% did not, compared with 93.7% and 3.5% respectively in the total population in the Northern Beaches Council.
Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a larger proportion owned just one car; a smaller proportion owned two cars; and a smaller proportion that owned three cars or more.
Overall, 35.1% of non-English speakers were in households that owned one car; 37.4% owned two cars; and 20.9% owned three cars or more, compared with 26.5%, 42.0% and 25.3% respectively for the total population in the Northern Beaches Council.
