Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in New Lambton in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,136 people or 21.4%)
  • Education and Training (620 people or 11.7%)
  • Retail Trade (454 people or 8.5%)

In combination, these three industries employed 2,210 people in total or 41.6% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, the City of Newcastle employed 20.6% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 10.2% in Education and Training; and 8.6% in Retail Trade.
