Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Waratah West in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (116 males or 14.1%)
  • Accommodation and Food Services (94 males or 11.4%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (88 males or 10.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 298 males in total or 36.2% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Jesmond employed 8.0% in Construction; 11.2% in Accommodation and Food Services; and 13.2% in Health Care and Social Assistance.
