Dominant groups

Analysis of the five year age groups of Wallsend in 2021 compared to Cooks Hill shows that there was a higher proportion of people in the younger age groups (under 15) as well as a higher proportion of people in the older age groups (65+).

Overall, 15.6% of the population was aged between 0 and 15, and 20.9% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 11.3% and 15.0% respectively for Cooks Hill.

The major differences between the age structure of Wallsend and Cooks Hill were:
