Analysis of the car ownership of the households in Newcastle in 2021 compared to Maryville shows that 81.8% of the households owned at least one car, while 13.7% did not, compared with 93.2% and 4.8% respectively in Maryville.
Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a larger proportion who owned just one car; a smaller proportion who owned two cars; and a smaller proportion who owned three cars or more.
Overall, 55.1% of the households owned one car; 22.4% owned two cars; and 4.3% owned three cars or more, compared with 38.8%; 41.6% and 12.8% respectively for Maryville.
