Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Deception Bay in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (746 males or 19.1%)
  • Manufacturing (464 males or 11.9%)
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing (386 males or 9.9%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,596 males in total or 40.9% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, the Hills District employed 15.8% in Construction; 5.4% in Manufacturing; and 5.9% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Deception Bay and the Hills District were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in manufacturing (11.9% compared to 5.4%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in transport, postal and warehousing (9.9% compared to 5.9%)
