Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in the City of Moreton Bay in 2021 compared to Greater Brisbane shows that there was a similar proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 31.0% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 12.9% were one-parent families, compared with 30.8% and 11.4% respectively for Greater Brisbane.

There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 21.2% compared to 22.7% in Greater Brisbane while the proportion of couples without children was 27.3% compared to 25.3% in Greater Brisbane.
