Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Scarborough in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (328 males or 17.1%)
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing (157 males or 8.2%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (145 males or 7.6%)

In combination, these three industries employed 630 males in total or 32.9% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, the City of Moreton Bay employed 18.2% in Construction; 8.6% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing; and 6.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Scarborough and the City of Moreton Bay were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in health care and social assistance (7.6% compared to 6.1%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in education and training (5.2% compared to 3.7%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in manufacturing (7.4% compared to 9.1%)
