Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in Petrie in 2021 compared to Ipswich City LGA shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a lower proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 34.3% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 12.9% were one-parent families, compared with 32.6% and 15.2% respectively for Ipswich City LGA.

There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 18.4% compared to 21.0% in Ipswich City LGA while the proportion of couples without children was 27.7% compared to 22.2% in Ipswich City LGA.
