Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in North Lakes in 2021 compared to Gold Coast City LGA shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 42.7% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 13.1% were one-parent families, compared with 28.0% and 11.5% respectively for Gold Coast City LGA.

There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 15.4% compared to 22.2% in Gold Coast City LGA while the proportion of couples without children was 23.8% compared to 26.4% in Gold Coast City LGA.
