Dominant groups

Analysis of the need for assistance of males in the City of Moreton Bay compared to Clontarf shows that there was a lower proportion of males who reported needing assistance with core activities.

Overall, 5.4% of the male population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 8.2% for Clontarf.

The major differences in the male age groups reporting a need for assistance in Strathpine Planning Area and Clontarf were:

  • A larger percentage of males aged 85 and over (48.5% compared to 43.7%)
  • A smaller percentage of males aged 75 to 79 (14.9% compared to 21.8%)
  • A smaller percentage of males aged 65 to 69 (8.0% compared to 13.1%)
  • A smaller percentage of males aged 70 to 74 (10.4% compared to 13.4%)
