Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Docklands (P) in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (2,124 people or 22.5%)
  • Financial and Insurance Services (1,020 people or 10.8%)
  • Accommodation and Food Services (837 people or 8.9%)

In combination, these three industries employed 3,981 people in total or 42.2% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Australia employed 7.8% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 3.7% in Financial and Insurance Services; and 6.5% in Accommodation and Food Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Docklands (P) and Australia were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in professional, scientific and technical services (22.5% compared to 7.8%)
