Dominant groups
In 2021, there were 638 people who caught public transport to work (train, bus, tram or ferry) in South East Precinct, compared with 2,406 who drove in private vehicles (car – as driver, car – as passenger, motorbike, or truck).
Analysis of the method of travel to work of the residents in South East Precinct in 2021, compared to the City of Maribyrnong, shows that 7.7% used public transport, while 28.6% used a private vehicle, compared with 8.2% and 38.8% respectively in the City of Maribyrnong.
The major differences in persons between the method of travel to work of South East Precinct and the City of Maribyrnong were:
- A larger percentage of persons who worked at home (46.2% compared to 36.1%)
- A smaller percentage of persons who travelled by car (as driver) (27.1% compared to 36.2%)
- A smaller percentage of persons who travelled by car (as a passenger) (1.5% compared to 2.6%)
- A smaller percentage of persons who travelled by bus (0.4% compared to 1.4%)
