Dominant groups
In 2021, there were 190 people who caught public transport to work (train, bus, tram or ferry) in Prestons, compared with 3,379 who drove in private vehicles (car – as driver, car – as passenger, motorbike, or truck).
Analysis of the method of travel to work of the residents in Prestons in 2021, compared to Liverpool LGA, shows that 2.8% used public transport, while 49.7% used a private vehicle, compared with 3.7% and 46.4% respectively in Liverpool LGA.
The major differences in persons between the method of travel to work of Prestons and Liverpool LGA were:
- A larger percentage of persons who travelled by car (as driver) (45.7% compared to 42.9%)
- A smaller percentage of persons who did not go to work (15.4% compared to 16.5%)
