Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Greenock and District in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Manufacturing (266 people or 20.0%)
  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (169 people or 12.7%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (129 people or 9.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 564 people in total or 42.4% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Light Regional Council employed 12.6% in Manufacturing; 8.0% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; and 12.3% in Health Care and Social Assistance.
