Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in City of Launceston in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (6,686 people or 20.6%)
  • Community and Personal Service Workers (4,689 people or 14.4%)
  • Technicians and Trades Workers (4,195 people or 12.9%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 15,570 people in total or 48.0% of the employed resident population.

In comparison, Regional TAS employed 16.5% in Professionals; 13.3% in Community and Personal Service Workers; and 14.5% in Technicians and Trades Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of the City of Launceston and Regional TAS were:
