Analysis of the unpaid child care provided by the population in Kyogle Council Area in 2021 compared to Northern Rivers Region shows that there was a lower proportion of people who provided unpaid child care either to their own or to other children. Overall, 19.8% of the population provided unpaid child care, compared with 24.0% for Northern Rivers Region.
The major differences between the share of the population providing unpaid child care in Kyogle Council Area and Northern Rivers Region were:
- A larger percentage who did not provide care for children (69.8% compared to 67.6%)
- A smaller percentage who provided unpaid childcare for own child/ren (13.4% compared to 16.8%)
