Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Parkdale in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (889 people or 13.5%)
- Education and Training (745 people or 11.3%)
- Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (664 people or 10.1%)
In combination, these three industries employed 2,298 people in total or 34.9% of the total employed resident population.
In comparison, Victoria employed 14.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 8.8% in Education and Training; and 8.4% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Parkdale and Victoria were:
- A larger percentage of persons employed in education and training (11.3% compared to 8.8%)
- A larger percentage of persons employed in professional, scientific and technical services (10.1% compared to 8.4%)
