Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Springfield in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (410 females or 22.2%)
  • Education and Training (235 females or 12.7%)
  • Retail Trade (193 females or 10.4%)

In combination, these three industries employed 838 females in total or 45.4% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, the City of Ipswich employed 25.2% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 12.9% in Education and Training; and 11.3% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Springfield and the City of Ipswich were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in professional, scientific and technical services (6.1% compared to 4.6%)
