Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Balmain East in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (203 people or 21.1%)
  • Financial and Insurance Services (124 people or 12.9%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (108 people or 11.2%)

In combination, these three industries employed 435 people in total or 45.2% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Camperdown employed 18.5% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 6.6% in Financial and Insurance Services; and 15.0% in Health Care and Social Assistance.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Balmain East and Camperdown were:
