Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Glenelg Shire in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

- Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (1,244 people or 14.1%)
- Manufacturing (990 people or 11.2%)
