Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Glenelg Shire in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,338 people or 15.2%)
  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (1,244 people or 14.1%)
  • Manufacturing (990 people or 11.2%)

In combination, these three industries employed 3,572 people in total or 40.5% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Regional VIC employed 16.2% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 7.2% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; and 7.4% in Manufacturing.
