Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Urangan in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (752 people or 21.3%)
  • Retail Trade (382 people or 10.8%)
  • Accommodation and Food Services (369 people or 10.4%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,503 people in total or 42.5% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Fraser Coast Regional Council employed 21.3% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 11.1% in Retail Trade; and 8.2% in Accommodation and Food Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Urangan and Fraser Coast Regional Council were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in accommodation and food services (10.4% compared to 8.2%)
