An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Mareeba (S) in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Labourers (1,474 people or 16.2%)
- Managers (1,391 people or 15.3%)
- Professionals (1,281 people or 14.1%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 4,146 people in total or 45.6% of the employed resident population.
In comparison, Hope Vale Aboriginal (S) employed 8.4% in Labourers; 5.3% in Managers; and 16.3% in Professionals.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Mareeba (S) and Hope Vale Aboriginal (S) were:
- A larger percentage of persons employed as Managers (15.3% compared to 5.3%)
- A larger percentage of persons employed as Labourers (16.2% compared to 8.4%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed as Community and Personal Service Workers (12.4% compared to 26.0%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed as Machinery Operators And Drivers (7.1% compared to 14.5%)
