An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Douglas (S) in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Community and Personal Service Workers (930 people or 16.0%)
- Technicians and Trades Workers (927 people or 16.0%)
- Labourers (854 people or 14.7%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 2,711 people in total or 46.8% of the employed resident population.
In comparison, Cassowary Coast (R) employed 10.9% in Community and Personal Service Workers; 13.6% in Technicians and Trades Workers; and 20.5% in Labourers.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Douglas (S) and Cassowary Coast (R) were:
- A larger percentage of persons employed as Community and Personal Service Workers (16.0% compared to 10.9%)
- A larger percentage of persons employed as Technicians and Trades Workers (16.0% compared to 13.6%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed as Labourers (14.7% compared to 20.5%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed as Machinery Operators And Drivers (5.0% compared to 9.2%)
