Analysis of individual income levels in Mareeba (S) in 2021 compared to Hinchinbrook (S) shows that there was a similar proportion of people earning a high income (those earning $2,000 per week or more) and a lower proportion of low income people (those earning less than $500 per week).
Overall, 5.8% of the population earned a high income, and 33.2% earned a low income, compared with 6.1% and 36.6% respectively for Hinchinbrook (S).
The major differences between Mareeba (S)'s individual incomes and Hinchinbrook (S)'s individual incomes were:
- A smaller percentage of persons who earned $400 - $499 (9.3% compared to 10.9%)
- A smaller percentage of persons who earned $300 - $399 (9.2% compared to 10.4%)
- A smaller percentage of persons who earned $1,750 - $1,999 (2.7% compared to 3.5%)
