Analysis of the family blending in Tablelands (R) in 2021 compared to Australia shows that there was a higher proportion of step families as well as a higher proportion of blended families. Overall, 9.2% of total couple families with children were step families, and 4.9% were blended families, compared with 8.5% and 3.5% respectively for Australia.
There were a higher proportion of other families and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of other families was 1.6% compared to 0.5% in Australia while the proportion of intact families was 84.3% compared to 87.5% in Australia.
