Analysis of the family blending in Tablelands (R) in 2021 compared to Cook (S) shows that there was a lower proportion of step families as well as a lower proportion of blended families. Overall, 9.2% of total couple families with children were step families, and 4.9% were blended families, compared with 12.8% and 4.2% respectively for Cook (S).
There were a lower proportion of other families and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of other families was 1.6% compared to 3.0% in Cook (S) while the proportion of intact families was 84.3% compared to 80.1% in Cook (S).
