Analysis of the need for assistance of people in the Far North Queensland Regional Organisation of Councils compared to Queensland shows that there was a similar proportion of people who reported needing assistance with core activities.
Overall, 5.7% of the population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 6.0% for Queensland.
The major differences in the age groups reporting a need for assistance in FNQROC region and Queensland were:
- A smaller percentage of persons aged 5 to 9 (3.6% compared to 5.0%)
- A smaller percentage of persons aged 10 to 19 (3.6% compared to 4.6%)
