Analysis of the need for assistance of females in the Far North Queensland Regional Organisation of Councils compared to Cook (S) shows that there was a lower proportion of females who reported needing assistance with core activities.
Overall, 2.1% of the female population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 3.7% for Cook (S).
The major differences in the female age groups reporting a need for assistance in Hope Vale Aboriginal (S) and Cook (S) were:
- A smaller percentage of females aged 85 and over (0.0% compared to 41.7%)
- A smaller percentage of females aged 80 to 84 (0.0% compared to 20.8%)
- A smaller percentage of females aged 75 to 79 (0.0% compared to 18.6%)
- A smaller percentage of females aged 70 to 74 (0.0% compared to 13.5%)
