Analysis of the need for assistance of females in the Far North Queensland Regional Organisation of Councils compared to Cassowary Coast (R) shows that there was a lower proportion of females who reported needing assistance with core activities.
Overall, 5.6% of the female population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 6.8% for Cassowary Coast (R).
The major differences in the female age groups reporting a need for assistance in FNQROC region and Cassowary Coast (R) were:
- A larger percentage of females aged 75 to 79 (17.6% compared to 16.1%)
- A smaller percentage of females aged 80 to 84 (30.0% compared to 31.7%)
- A smaller percentage of females aged 60 to 64 (6.2% compared to 7.4%)
- A smaller percentage of females aged 65 to 69 (7.6% compared to 8.6%)
