Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Northcote in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (1,286 males or 18.3%)
  • Education and Training (646 males or 9.2%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (637 males or 9.1%)

In combination, these three industries employed 2,569 males in total or 36.5% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, the City of Darebin employed 12.2% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 7.3% in Education and Training; and 7.5% in Health Care and Social Assistance.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Northcote and the City of Darebin were:
