Hardiman Reserve, Plenty Road and Darebin Creek in the east, Tyler Street, Regent Street, Union Street and Furzer Street in the south, and Elizabeth Street, the City of Moreland and Merri Creek in the west.

Name origin

Reservoir is named after the water reservoirs built in the area in the late 1800s and early 1900s.

Settlement history

Settlement of the area dates from the mid 1800s, although population was minimal until the 1880s. Growth took place during the late 1800s and early 1900s, aided by the opening of the railway line and the construction of water reservoirs. Significant development did not occur until the post-war years, with rapid growth during the 1950s and 1960s, including public housing construction. The population was relatively stable between 1996 and 2006, and then increased marginally between 2006 and 2011 as new dwellings were added to the area.
