Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Blue Mountains City in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (5,884 people or 16.2%)
  • Education and Training (5,476 people or 15.1%)
  • Public Administration and Safety (3,260 people or 9.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 14,620 people in total or 40.3% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, the City of Parramatta employed 14.2% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 8.1% in Education and Training; and 5.2% in Public Administration and Safety.
