Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in Liverpool City in 2021 compared to Northern Beaches Council area shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 44.2% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 14.2% were one-parent families, compared with 36.8% and 8.6% respectively for Northern Beaches Council area.

There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 16.3% compared to 21.6% in Northern Beaches Council area while the proportion of couples without children was 17.0% compared to 26.2% in Northern Beaches Council area.
