Dominant groups
Analysis of the ancestry responses of the population in Rural Residential in 2021 shows that the top five ancestries nominated were:
- Australian (1,948 people or 17.9%)
- English (1,832 people or 16.9%)
- Indian (978 people or 9.0%)
- Italian (621 people or 5.7%)
- Irish (497 people or 4.6%)
In combination these five ancestries account for 5,876 responses in total, or 54.11% of all responses.
The major differences between the ancestries of the population in Rural Residential and Campbelltown City were:
- A larger percentage of people with Assyrian/Chaldean ancestry (4.0% compared to 0.4%)
- A larger percentage of people with Italian ancestry (5.7% compared to 2.6%)
- A smaller percentage of people with Australian ancestry (17.9% compared to 24.8%)
