Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Rural North West in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (130 females or 23.0%)
  • Education and Training (80 females or 14.2%)
  • Retail Trade (74 females or 13.1%)

In combination, these three industries employed 284 females in total or 50.3% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Byron Shire employed 20.2% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 12.0% in Education and Training; and 12.1% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Rural North West and Byron Shire were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (23.0% compared to 20.2%)
