Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Rural North in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (247 people or 19.1%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (148 people or 11.4%)
  • Construction (137 people or 10.6%)

In combination, these three industries employed 532 people in total or 41.0% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Benalla Rural City employed 9.7% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; 15.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 12.6% in Construction.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Rural North and Benalla Rural City were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (19.1% compared to 9.7%)
