Dominant groups

In 2021, there were 4,732 separate houses in the area, 2,535 medium density dwellings, and 5,881 high density dwellings.

Analysis of the types of dwellings in Ward 4 in 2021 shows that 35.7% of all dwellings were separate houses; 19.1% were medium density dwellings, and 44.4% were in high density dwellings, compared with 32.4%, 17.4%, and 49.1% in the Bayside Council area respectively.

In 2021, a total of 92.1% of the dwellings in Ward 4 were occupied on Census night, compared to 91.2% in Bayside Council area. The proportion of unoccupied dwellings was 7.7%, which is smaller compared to that found in Bayside Council area (8.7%).
