Dominant groups
Analysis of the car ownership in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander households in Bass Coast Shire in 2021 compared to [POPBMHH] shows that 94.6% of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander households owned at least one car and 3.8% did not, compared with 88.6% and 8.4% respectively for [POPBMHH] .
Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a smaller proportion who owned just one car, a larger proportion who owned two cars, and a larger proportion who owned three cars or more.
Overall, 30.0% of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander households owned one car, 39.2% owned two cars, and 25.4% owned three cars or more, compared with 30.9%, 34.6% and 23.1% respectively for [POPBMHH].
