Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in City South in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (430 females or 36.4%)
  • Clerical and Administrative Workers (210 females or 17.8%)
  • Community and Personal Service Workers (182 females or 15.4%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 822 females in total or 69.5% of the employed female resident population.

In comparison, the City of Adelaide employed 36.1% in Professionals; 15.9% in Clerical and Administrative Workers; and 17.4% in Community and Personal Service Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of City South and the City of Adelaide were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed as Clerical and Administrative Workers (17.8% compared to 15.9%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed as Managers (12.9% compared to 11.7%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed as Community and Personal Service Workers (15.4% compared to 17.4%)

The number of employed females in City South increased by 422 between 2016 and 2021.

The largest changes in the occupations of female residents between 2016 and 2021 in City South were for those employed as:
