Dominant groups

Analysis of the female five year age groups of CAD East in 2021 compared to the City of Adelaide shows that there was a lower proportion of females in the younger age groups (under 15) as well as a lower proportion of females in the older age groups (65+).

Overall, 3.7% of the female population was aged between 0 and 15, and 10.4% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 6.0% and 17.0% respectively for the City of Adelaide.

The major differences between the female age structure of CAD East and the City of Adelaide were:

  • A larger percentage of females aged 20 to 24 (26.0% compared to 17.3%)
  • A larger percentage of females aged 25 to 29 (17.2% compared to 13.3%)
  • A smaller percentage of females aged 85 and over (0.5% compared to 2.6%)
